Lake Rebecca SUPn

Proving that the Walden is light, and the board is well balanced.
Lake Rebecca makes a great SUP lake near Delano Minn.

We also sported the Red White and Blue in the spirit of Memorial Day. Sincere thanks to those who have served, and are still serving are country.

Checking out
Excelsior
Bay
May 4

The lovely and talented Tara takes SUP to Excelsior Bay of Lake Minnetona. A bay that is storied with history of travel, steamboats and tourism.

Sunday Minnetonka and Calhoun

Thanks to everyone who said hi today! Jeep guy, and early mothers day lady, and the folks at Maynard's in Minnetonka. I was pleasantly caught by surprise today with the time on SUP board with a few new discoveries.

First, the 'swirlies' are spectacular from the SUP perspective. By swirlies I mean the vortex paddle marks that spin behind the forceful paddle thrusts you get while boarding.

Secondly, Lake Calhoun was a welcome pre-summer traffic jam of activity. The cars of summer finally made appearances after being cooped up in garages with their owners. However the muffled sounds of revving motorcycles and restored classic cars felt more enjoyable from the comfort of placid waters 200 yards off shore.

Last, it's so easy to embark on a quick ride with an SUP. No rigging, no setup.

Lake Calhoun

Lake Calhoun. Equally frigid water, but a total blast to be the first SUP out there!!

Lake Harriet May 4

Cold, windy but absolutely invigorating! Solo SUP'er out there, but what a rush.

Comments from passersby; "I'll bet that water's pretty cold!"

It was cold, but I managed to spend the day (By choice) above and out of the water. The wind and my paddle took across across the entire lake on a great ride!
